FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MOUNT AIRY GOLF COURSE CLOSING TO BEGIN RENOVATIONS

PARADISE TOWNSHIP, PA – Mount Airy Golf Club is closing for the season on September 3, 2007 to begin work on an extensive and highly anticipated renovation plan.

The facelift will include reconstructed greens, expanded tee boxes, installation of a new irrigation system and some exciting modifications to the original golf course layout. Upon completion and re-opening the course will be renamed “Mount Airy Casino Resort Golf Club”.

Mount Airy has long been viewed as the one of the most challenging and picturesque golf courses in the Pocono’s. Modifications to the course layout promise to add new challenges and enhance the golf experience for all handicap levels while preserving the character of the original Mount Airy Golf Club.

To design and oversee the renovations, Mount Airy Casino Resort has retained the services of nationally recognized golf course architect, Dan Schlegel of Schlegel Golf Course Design. Schlegel, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, has extensive experience in renovating existing golf facilities and has worked on hundreds of projects over the past two decades.

The completed golf course at Mount Airy Casino Resort is scheduled to re-open in the summer of 2009. Upon its completion this Fall, Mount Airy Casino Resort will offer a casino with 2,500 slot machines, 188-room hotel, spa and salon, restaurants, nightclub, retail shopping and meeting space. Work on Phase I of the 891-acre site will continue after the opening, with an additional 212 hotel rooms, pool, and a casino with up to 3,000 total slot machines completed by the end of 2008.

A golf course that is as challenging as it is beautiful. With four tee boxes to choose from, golfers will find accuracy at a premium. 96 sand bunkers and ten holes touched by water compliment a dramatic layout created out of the Pocono Mountainsides.

The design of the course was inspired by the eighteen best golf holes in the country as selected by "Sports Illustrated Magazine." It took eleven years to build, and it is superbly maintained. Although it's considered a challenging course, the high-handicap, shorter hitter can have just as satisfying a round as the expert. This is a tight course with water hazards and sand bunkers in play on every hole. The greens are fast and hard to read. The course was voted as a 1994 favorite Public Golf Course in Pennsylvania by the readers of "Golfers Journal."

Now offering permanent tee times.
