Among
the great golf courses, scenic beauty plays an important part. We
have the spectacular courses along the blue Pacific, Pebble Beach
and Cypress Point; the thrilling Rocky Mountain courses at Banff
and Jasper Park; the eye-filling ocean view one gets at Midocean
in Bermuda; and that inspiring botanical amphitheater at the Augusta
National. It is a great source of satisfaction to have been associated
with some of these courses and so too we are proud to be the architect
for the new golf course at Tamiment. For, when one reaches the third
hole, the twenty mile view one gets from all directions is an inspiration.
Not only does the beauty of this mountain top course thrill you,
but the shifting winds play an important part and are a subtle factor
in the playing value.
